Where the leather sole keeps chipping off where it comes over the side of the shoe on both pairs I tried. Lucky for me that Zappos has a great no hassle return policy. I mean I can color it with black marker but I don’t think you should have to on a shoe that end up being $140 with tax.

Excellent oxfords. As with any high quality dress shoes, be sure to condition and polish – doing so will eliminate the squeakiness others have mentioned. The leather soles will be quite slippery at first; this can be addressed by gently rubbing with soles with sandpaper. Get good shoe trees for these, and they will serve you well!

Perfect dress shoe in black! Bought these because I needed a true black dress shoe. Like the cap toe, looks really good with a charcoal grey or black suit.
Best feature is the leather sole. Hard to find a leather sole on a dress shoe without breaking the bank. Great value and they look sharp. Highly recommend for a man’s wardrobe.

Great purchase, love the soles. I didn’t realize it was shiny brushed leather which is too glossy and hard but a little rubbing alcohol took away the sheen and they look great.

These shoes look really slick from a distance, but up close there are some inconsistencies in the broguing that make them look a bit cheap. Not truly a patent leather, but definitely more plastic-y feeling than I was expecting. I ultimately returned them, so I cannot speak to the comfort or durability after a solid break-in period.

The fit was pretty good. However, ask the manufacturer to make wider shoes. I don’t think all the manufacturer of shoes realize how many men now days have wider feet. One of the main reasons men have wider feet is because from the time they are little kids and on, all they wear are tennis shoes or sneakers. Tennis shoes and sneakers do not have a good width structure and tend to let the foot spread wider and wider as the kids grow up. society now has wider feet. Shoe manufacturers can make lots of money providing the general public with wider shoes that fit better. No one seems to pay attention to this fact. There is money to be made for all. I hope this Review goes to management and not the trash can.

You need to tell your manufacturers to make wider shoes. I have already submitted a review and you your company seems to have lost my previous review. There is money to be made when you provide more wider shoes…wider than 3EEE and 4EEEE in men’s shoes. Now a days men’s feet are wider. Please don’t throw my review into the trash can. Forward it to your management staff.

These were very comfortable and well-made shoes. They were a little too shiny for my taste (they were almost reminding me of the patent leather shiny shoes you wear with tuxedos) and I liked the style of the Florsheim Sorrento Cap Toe Oxford better. In addition to being less shiny, the Florsheims had a longer toe (versus the rounded toe of the Bradford), seemed a little more “current”, and had some interesting detail in the heel. But that’s all simply a matter of subjective taste/opinion. If you like the style of this shoe, I would 100% recommend the Bradford.
