After many years of faithful service with the Dickies Railroad overalls, the manufacturing now makes the bib pockets smaller than they used to be, rendering them useless. Pocket ripped trying to get my cell phone in the pocket. Too bad, I used to really enjoy these overalls.

I have been wearing Stonewashed Bibs for 50 plus years and all of a sudden someone comes up with a brainy idea and says let’s make the pocket smaller so we can upset all our customers. I just don’t get it, if it is not broken don’t fix it.
I had ordered 3 and sent them all back and will not be purchasing any more after all these years of being a faithful customer, shame on whoever authorized this stupid move.

My Grandfather wore Dickies everyday of his life, and he had a Sunday pair for Church only. He was a farmer from Missouri who moved out West in the 1920’s leaving the midwest behind but not his heart or his love of Dickies. I bought 2 pairs, they are exactly like his from the 1920’s – these bring back so many wonderful memories.

Great fit, extra room for pulling on over your uniform or work clothes so you don’t trash your nice clothes. Construction of these ‘Bibs’ is very durable. I’m not worried about a ‘blowout’ because of marginal fasteners.

Hickory Stripe Bib Overalls: Fit as advertised, but cotton is thin for overalls. I consider these a lightweight summer overall with minimal durability. Time will tell, but this is thin cotton weight which is going to translate to light duty wear and tear. They are not suitable for hard labor.

We have purchased these bibs many times through the years.
Just wanted you to know that your length (or inseam) is not consistent. This time we ordered 2 bibs each at the 30″ inseam. As other times, they appeared to be about 1 1/2″-2″ different inseam. I decided to wash and dry them right away, to see if the shrinkage would lessen the difference. It did not.
I am keeping both pairs, but will need to hem the longest one.

I remember my father wearing these Dickies overalls to church every Sunday. On my 15th birthday, he gave me my own pair to wear with him. Imagine a lean 45 year old man in overalls with shirt and tie underneath straightening the tie of his lanky, tall teenage son who is wearing the same suit+tie+overalls combo. But I always loved wearing my overalls every week because it helped bring our family together and closer to God. And now my son is turning 15, so the tradition will continue. He keeps asking when he’s getting his overalls to show off to his friends. It may not be the most stylish, but it’s a family tradition. God bless Dickies overalls for bringing our family together.

I bought one pair before and it ripped so I bought a replacement pair and it ripped on the same seam.

Since these overall are 100% cotton make sure to get them a size bigger! I purchase a 36/32 when I am a 34/30 and thank goodness I did. Before washing I was stepping on the pant legs, after washing they sit at my ankles. Other than that, they are great overalls!
